The toddler programs at Once Upon A Time are arranged in such a way as to promote individual successes in a non-competitive environment. Classroom size is small as well as group sizes. Our goal is to keep each child in the environment that best suits them. Our toddler classrooms encompass Pre-toddlers (10-16 months), Older ones (16-22 mos.), Young twos (22-28 months), and Older twos (28-36 months). By separating the age groups in this way, we are able to create an environment that is best suited to each child and where they are at developmentally.
We have themes of the week, with all the activities corresponding to the theme as best as possible. There is a concentration on a child’s socio-emotional development, following directions, and participating in the activities that are offered. We will work with the children on recognizing and naming body parts, colors and shapes. Music, art, science, fine and gross motor development are all encompassed in the curriculum. We believe that each child is an individual with their own strengths and weaknesses. We embrace these differences and help each child to reach their own individual goals and be successful.
